Think about it--they're bright red, huge, loud, and have flashing lights. AND, according to this book Grandma got me, they stop fires from burning houses and trees. Um...WOW!

"Fire Trucks Has Wheels...Has a Siren!"
That's right, everybody! Bet you didn't know Fire Trucks were so cool that they have BOTH wheels and a siren! Fire Trucks are one of my many obsessions just now. And for good reason.
Think about it--they're bright red, huge, loud, and have flashing lights. AND, according to this book Grandma got me, they stop fires from burning houses and trees. Um...WOW!
One absolutely amazing day Mommy took me to see a Fire Truck at its house. A lady in a blue uniform showed us her new Fire Truck. She said it was only two days old. Well, it was pretty big for such a young Truck!
The lady let me get up and pretend to drive it. No matter how hard I begged, she wouldn't let me drive it for real. And, believe me, I begged! "I Drive it!" I told her. "Need the keys!" But she wouldn't listen.
She DID let me explore the Fire Truck, though. I got to open every door and cupboard. I asked her what everything was--"Whah's this?"--and she answered every question. She would have let me try on the big fire hat, but it was too big for my head and I didn't want to wear it.
When I realized she wasn't going to let me drive the Fire Truck, I started begging to hear the siren--"Siren, hear it! I hear it!"--but she wouldn't do that either. She said it would scare people. But to make it up to me, she let me ring the silver bell. Not quite as good as a siren, but an excellent second best.
When I had crawled, climbed, and thoroughly examined every inch of that Fire Truck, the lady took me and Mommy inside and gave me a red Fire Hat just my size, a sticker badge, and a red "re-fle-tor" that glows then you push a button. I made Mommy snap it to my jeans and wore it the rest of the day.
Ahhhh, Fire Trucks! Now I know from my own experience--"Fire Trucks has wheels...has a siren!"
Think about it--they're bright red, huge, loud, and have flashing lights. AND, according to this book Grandma got me, they stop fires from burning houses and trees. Um...WOW!

"I'm Smilin', Mama!"
Smiles mean that you're happy. I love to be happy. When I'm feeling particularly happy, I'll put a big, silly grin on my face and say, "I'm smilin', Mama! I'm Smilin'!"
Sometimes I ask Mommy, "YOU smilin', Mama?" Just checking that she's doing all right.
If you want to see me smile, then smile at me. Or just ask. I give my smiles out for free!
So keep smilin' and be happy--like me!!!

Best Fun EVER!
I've lived through two Halloweens before this, but I never understood the magic of Trick-or-Treat before. Boy do I get it now!
Halloween doesn't make sense, but it doesn't have to. It goes like this: you dress up, grab a bucket, and knock on a bunch of doors. You say "Trick-or-treat!" and they give you candy. All you have to do after that is say "Thanks!"
Well, even I can do THAT!
I got a bucket FULL of candy and had a great time running from door to door with Daddy. You know, that reminds me...I wonder where my bucket of candy went. Hmmm. I'll have to ask Mommy about that.
Anyway, "Trick-or-Treat" and "Happy Halloween" to everyone!

Punkin Patch
I recently learned that punkins are a big part of Halloween. I see them everywhere!
So, we went to a Punkin Patch to find some punkins to make all smilin'.
First thing was to get a wagon. I LOVE riding in the wagon.
But, really the wagon was for the punkins. I got to pick out mine and Tommy's. Tommy is too little to pick up a punkin.
I was big enough to pull the wagon too. I made Daddy step aside so I could do it.
Big Boys in the punkins!
When we were done picking out our punkins, I wanted to ride again, but Daddy said no. We had a long 'talk' about it. Daddy won.
Someone forgot to color these punkins orange. If only I had thought to bring my crayons!
This was the little tunnel I climbed through. It was only fun once. Daddy thought it was cool, but I don't get it.
What I really wanted to do was climb the hay and jump off. I wasn't allowed to, so I threw a good n' noisy fit as only I know how. I am so good at fits! I never actually get my way, but I feel better afterward.
We brought our punkins home and had a fun night cutting them up. But I'll tell that story later. I'm going to bed now--tomorrow is Halloween!

Chatter Box
Mommy says I'm a chatter box. She says that means I talk a lot. She told me to tell you some of the things I say. When someone asks me to do something and I don't want to, I say "Are you kiddin' me?"
I always forget to say please, but I never forget to say "thanks!"
A few days ago I told Daddy "Come on! Play cars. It's fun!"
I love to remind Mommy, "Red means stop, yellow means go slow, and green means go!"
When my baby brother tries to pull my hair or grab my arm, which he does ALL the time, I say "No, no, Tommy. No touch Brady!"
I heard a song the other day and ran into the kitchen to tell Mommy, "I love the song, Mama! I love it!"
I like to play games with Mommy. I point to something and ask, "What's this?" Then she'll say, "It's toast." So, I say, "That's right! Toast! Two toast! That's right!"
When Daddy sings a good song, I tell him, "Good job, Daddy!"
And when Daddy reads me a good book and I want to learn the words, I make him read it to me over and over again. I say "Again!" and then repeat he words back at him. My favorite book right now is my Cars book.
I say lots of things, for lots of reasons. After all, I'm two and I know everything.

Eating
My best friend Laney likes her food. She'll eat pretty much anything if her mom eats it first. She's a braver toddler than I am.
I am very picky about what I put in my mouth. I don't care if Mommy and Daddy like it--they like all kinds of weird things. They'll even eat rice and hamburgers. Seriously, they're as bad as Laney!
I have a very specific list of yummy foods: Rocks (tiny meatballs), spaghetti, mac'n cheese, melted cheese sandwich (no crust), applesauce, ravioli, pizza, rice crispies, and hotdogs (without the bun). I'll also eat most berries, anything with chocolate, and ice cream (but only in a bowl, not a cone).
Mommy says I'm too picky. Maybe I am, but I do TRY everything at least once. Mommy and Daddy told me that if I take "one big bite" of a food and I don't like it, I don't have to eat it. Sometimes I like it (that's how I discovered Rocks and hotdogs), but usually I don't.
Mommy and Daddy are very fair. If I don't like it, they let me off and I can have something else. As long as they keep up their end of the bargain, I'll keep trying things.
